Outside the Black Diamond is a fountain with a sculpture made by Mogens Møller and called the Monument of the Book. It was donated to the library in 1993 on the occasion of the library's 200 years anniversary as a public library.[1]
In front of the arsenal building stands the Isted Lion but in 2009 it was decided that it will be returned to its original location in Flensburg, Germany.
In May 2009 a cast of Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen's sculpture of a mermaid from 1831 was erected in the square. The original is on display in the National Gallery.[2]
