Advarsel mod produkter med listeria
Myndighederne efterforsker i øjeblikket et udbrud af listeria i Danmark. Udbruddet har resulteret i dødsfald. Fødevarestyrelsen mener at have fundet hovedsmittekilden til udbruddet.
Fødevarestyrelsen har i samarbejde med Statens Serum Institut og Fødevareinstituttet DTU sporet et igangværende udbrud af fødevarebakterien listeria i Danmark.
Fødevarestyrelsen mener at have fundet hovedsmittekilden til udbruddet, og arbejder med alle til rådighed stående midler på at få udbruddet stoppet.
Hovedsmittekilden er blevet fundet hos fødevarevirksomheden Jørn A. Rullepølser A/S i Hedehusene. Virksomheden er derfor blevet lukket, og alle dens produkter er ved at blive trukket tilbage.
Jørn A. Rullepølser A/S har leveret produkter til andre virksomheder. Fødevarestyrelsen arbejder i øjeblikket på at finde ud af, hvilke navngivne produkter det drejer sig om.

26. juni 2014 blev Fødevarestyrelsen informeret af Statens Serum Institut om, at der kunne være et listeria-udbrud under opsejling. Kilden var ukendt.
Efterfølgende har Fødevarestyrelsen efterforsket udbruddet for at lokalisere kilden.
11. august 2014 blev det fastslået, at hovedsmittekilden til listeria-udbruddet stammer fra fødevarevirksomheden Jørn A. Rullepølser A/S. Virksomheden blev straks lukket, og en tilbagetrækning af produkter fra aftagervirksomheder begyndte.

Listeria er udbredt i jorden, på planter, i spildevand, i tarmen hos dyr og mennesker og i produktionsmiljøer.
Bakterien kan forekomme i en lang række almindelige fødevarer. Det gælder især rå fødevarer, men det kan også være varmebehandlede fødevarer, der har fået bakterierne tilført efter varmebehandlingen.
Sygdommen listeriose, som kommer af listeria, og som oftest rammer ældre eller svagelige, er forholdsvis sjælden sammenlignet med fx salmonellose, men til gengæld er listeriose en alvorlig og livstruende sygdom.
Siden 2006 har antallet af syge af listeria ligget mellem 50 og 60 med det højeste antal i 2009, hvor 100 blev syge.
