Prøvernes indhold af calcium i mmol/L beregnes automatisk af
instrumentets software ud fra koncentrationen af calcium i
måleopløsningen i mg/L og de indtastede oplysninger om
fortyndingsvolumener.
Såfremt oplysninger om fortyndingsvolumener ikke er korrekt indtastet,
kan prøvens indhold af calcium i mmol/L beregnes manuelt efter
formlen:
40,08
mmol / L mg / ml fortynding

 , idet Mwcalcium = 40,08 g/mol
Resultatet for den enkelte prøve beregnes som gennemsnittet af
målingerne af de to fortyndinger af prøven.
Forskellen mellem resultaterne på de to fortyndinger må ikke afvige
mere end 5% fra gennemsnittet. Følgende formel bruges til beregning:
